About the Job:

Job title: RESTAURANT FIRE AND SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

Compensation: Competitive Salary.

Qualified candidate will work in our Montego Bay branch running a route, servicing kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and exit and emergency lights. Candidate will also be responsible for the sale of new products to the customers in this route.

• Inspect and service restaurant fire suppression systems

• Inspect and service fire extinguishers and e-lights

• Sell to customers needing products and services to meet compliance with current fire codes

• Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria

• Complete and process all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion

• Maintain established client accounts

• Maintain quotas as set forth by Branch Manager

• Comply with all customer service obligations as set forth by the manager and all policies as set

• Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager

• Represent AcVark in a professional positive manner

• Ensure high level of customer service, satisfaction and communication

• Ensure continued communication and cooperation with AcVark staff

• Follow Safety rules and good driving habits

• Follow AcVark policies and procedures

Qualified Candidates Will:

• Have the ability to work with their hands and possess technical and/or mechanical

• Have the ability to manage a route servicing existing and new customer’s fire

• Be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and on-call hours

• Have a good understanding of building codes and regulations

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics

• Be able to obtain and retain appropriate certifications and/or licenses

• Have customer oriented interpersonal skills

• Be willing to attend safety sessions and training classes

• Have a valid General driver's license and clean driving record & must meet AcVark’s safe driving policy criteria

• One year of experience of route sales required

• Portable technician license preferred

• Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational and good communication skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred

Essential Functions and General Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend acceptable business English

• Must be willing to work a varying schedule including early morning, late evening and weekends to accommodate customers’ needs

• Must have regular and punctual attendance

• Must have basic mathematical skills

• Must have and maintain a Valid General Driver’s License and safe driving record

• Must be able to access all areas of route vehicle, including loading & unloading materials

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75-lbs

• Repetitive Lifting and Carrying minimum of 20 lbs. or more, 8 or more times per day, 5 consecutive days per week. These carrying minimums include carrying loads up and down flights of stairs, carrying loads long distances from or to truck

• Repetitive Lifting weights or 20 lbs. or more from floor to various holding bracket/holder heights, (can be as high as a 6 ft. lift)

• May be required to work on building roofs. Must not be height sensitive.

• Must be able to access and tolerate small crawl spaces

• Must be able to recognize and identify colours

• Must be able to recognize safety alarm sounds and sights

• This position may require the handling of chemicals that may be skin and/or respiratory irritants. May also be exposed to ventilation areas which may be respiratory irritant must not be skin and respiratory sensitive to these materials and environments. MSDS are available.
