We are looking for skilled, hardworking, enthusiastic individuals to become part of our team, with experience in installation, service and preventive maintenance of commercial and residential fire and security products/systems. While we are looking for EXPERIENCED & LICENSED technicians, we will consider training the right person. We need team players who are customer service oriented, friendly, and will represent AcVark in a professional and positive manner.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills -- ability to identify issues and implement safe & effective solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
  • Excellent customer interface and communication skills both verbal and written System Inspection, Installation & Repairs
  • Install and program low voltage electrical devices / alarm panels
  • Survey and prepare customer site for testing alarm system
  • Perform testing of fire & Security alarm system panels, noting deficiencies and trouble function test heat & smoke detectors, duct detectors, pull stations, audible/visual devices, Perform complete site survey and visual inspection of all system devices         
  • Read wiring diagrams and systems blue prints to assure proper and safe installation
  • Perform on-site trouble shooting when necessary to complete the job
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and legible manner
  • Provide customer with basic panel/system operation training
  • Complete inspection reports and turn into branch management
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and keep work vehicle clean and organized
  • Manage inventory and tools for each job to assure proper parts and tools are on hand

Knowledge, Education, Licensing, and Experience Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Vocational and/or Technical School: Electrical Systems Technology diploma/degree + 1 year
  • 2+ years of Electronic Security and/or Fire Alarm installation/service field
  • Must have or be able & willing to attain Fire Alarm License when required
  • Active General Driver’s License, in good standing required & must meet AcVark’s safe driving
  • Knowledge of construction site and workplace safety practices is highly preferred
  • Experience with multi-meter, man-lift operation, use of computers, is preferred
  • NICET Certification preferred (Fire Alarm)

  • Must be able to exercise effective time management skills (prioritize, work on a time line)
  • Must have a strong mechanical and/or electrical systems aptitude
  • Must be able to install low voltage/alarm electrical systems to manufacturer specifications
  • Must be able to visually inspect and service alarm systems
  • Must be able to use a computer effectively to perform programming of panels
  • Must be able to recognize alarm sights and sounds
  • Must be able to effectively use smoke detector testers
